Fiber art is made of the stringy substance that comes from cotton, hemp, and other plants. Zeisler was a sculptor who handled fiber as other sculptors handle wood, metal, or stone. Using tightly knotted and wrapped strands of natural hemp she created the cascading forms of Private Affair I.
